return
so i haven't thought of much to write about lately. but i've been doing well. i went to portland at thanksgiving to spend time with my family at my sister's apartment. i love that city, and really enjoyed visiting with my family. december was super busy, and ended well, with 2 great christmas celebrations. both were very low-key and relaxing, which is my favorite way to spend the hoidays. i've tried to begin 2007 with more relaxing and de-stressing. i've discovered how much i enjoy cooking and baking, and am trying to do more of both. i've been making chocolate chip cookies almost every weekend, and tried an oatmeal cookie recipe on new years day. i've also been experimenting with new recipes, trying to find new meals to add to my repertoire.
if you have any suggestions, or favorite recipes, i welcome any recommendations. i don't eat red meat, but i'm getting pretty good at finding ways to substitute poultry or fish for meat in recipes. so i welcome all recipes and cooking tips - if you have a favorite brand, or kitchen tool, or food, i'd love to hear about it.
thanks, and happy new year!
