cranky and fragile
it's been a long week. and the week isn't even close to being over. for many reasons i don't feel like rehashing, i'm feeling a bit fragile today. so i have a request:
think about the people around you. take an extra second out of your day to consider your actions and how they effect the people around you. be aware of other people's personal space. when in doubt, allow extra space, rather than not enough. think about the language you use and the way you speak to everyone you encounter, both in person and on the phone. smile. be polite. say please and thank you. hold doors open for others. be generous. err on the side of too polite and formal rather on the side of too familiar. and it's safer to assume other people do not want you to touch them.
for the people who choose not to behave like decent human beings, i'm just trying to remember that it's not about me, it's about them. (thanks to ashley judd for reminding me of this on The View yesterday. )
