the most boring story in the world

so i noticed yesterday as i was leaving work that my nose ring had fallen out. i'm not sure when it happened, and i wear the world's tiniest nose ring, so there's no way i'm ever going to find it. i have a spare (which you may have seen if you were at the project last night), but it's bigger and had a sparkly rhinestoney thing in it and i find that i notice it. if i look down i can see it, and i find it distracting. so today after work, i went on a mission to find a new nose ring.

i'm very picky about my nose stud. i've tried many options, and have finally come to love the bone style of nose stud, with a plain silver ball on the end. i usually swing by the garage in harvard square when i'm visiting my parents and grab a few, but didn't last time i was home. but this is new york - if something exists, you can find it here. and i thought St. Marks would be a good place to find what i was looking for - there are enough tattoo /piercing places that someone's got to have what i want. or so you'd think.

10 shops and not a single one sells a plain silver stud . i can get the screw kind of stud, which i hate, or i can get pretty colored studs. but no plain ones! glow in the dark navel rings? yes. plain silver stud? not a chance. why is that?

i finally found one. after much frustration. after getting caught in many crowds of loud people carrying puerto rican flags. after consoling myself by trying the amazing new ben and jerry's flavor "fossil fuel" (and then getting yelled at for trying to bring food into a tattoo parlour). it's a little bigger than my last nose ring, but it will tide me over until my next trip to boston.

in other news, mirabelli's back. i've lost a little respect for him after his bratty behaviour on queer eye, but i hope that his being back will help wakefield get out of this slump.
